On the Same Wavelength
We have invited Dr Sarah McKay to join the SNN Online series for a reprise of her highly successful Opening Address at the SNN Conference Adelaide in May 2026.
This interactive and entertaining discussion will benefit all product, tech, and delivery professionals seeking practical, neuroscience‑based tools to build trust, rapport, and high‑performing collaboration in modern workplaces.
Biological synchrony is one of Mother Nature’s tricks to help us bond and trust others. Synchrony is like the social glue that holds groups together and enables cooperation. When people experience trust, rapport, cooperation, singing, dancing, or sharing attention, their biology, including heartbeats, breathing, hormones, and brainwaves, all synchronise.
Dr McKay will discuss:
* The social brain and the neurobiology of trust and rapport,
* An overview of the most up-to-date neuroscience and technology (most published since 2021) of two-person neuroscience,
* How to create trust and build rapport using the latest neuroscience. Is it possible in the digital age?
Dr Sarah McKay is a PhD neuroscientist and science communicator who translates brain research into practical strategies for professionals in coaching, women's health, education, and healthcare via training courses, books, and public speaking.
Sarah publishes a weekly email "micro-briefing" of women's brain health research, policy and tech and is the author of three books on brain health:
1. "The Women's Brain Book. The Neuroscience of Health, Hormones and Happiness" (2nd ed: 2025), which looks at women's brain health across the lifespan. Hachette.
2. "Baby Brain. How Pregnancy and Motherhood Sculpt Your Brain and Change Your Mind (for the better)" (2023). Hachette.
3. "Brain Health For Dummies" with the iconic black and yellow Wiley brand (2025). Wiley.
